A Timeless Waterfront Wedding at Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort

Love was in the air at this Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort wedding. With a waterfront ceremony, soft blue and lavender details, and loved ones gathered close, the celebration brought together everything that makes a wedding meaningful: connection, commitment, and family.

For me, photographing this day was about preserving that feeling. The setting was beautiful, but the couple and the people surrounding them gave the photographs their meaning.

A Waterfront Ceremony Surrounded by Loved Ones

Beneath the ornate gazebo, the couple stood hand in hand with the water behind them. Guests filled the rows on either side of the aisle, creating an intimate setting for their vows.

One of my favorite photographs is the black-and-white view from the aisle. It includes the couple, their wedding party, and the guests witnessing their commitment. That wider perspective tells an important part of their story: they were surrounded by people who mattered to them.

It was, in every sense, a family affair.

Soft Colors and Classic Wedding Details

The bride’s lace gown and flowing veil paired beautifully with a bouquet of pale blue blooms, cream roses, and greenery. Purple flowers in her hair echoed the groom’s lavender bow tie and pocket square.

These details brought a lovely sense of continuity to the portraits. Against the soft waterfront sky, the colors felt gentle and romantic, keeping the attention on the couple.

The rings deserved a photograph of their own, too. Resting together on the wedding stationery, they offered a simple, personal detail to include alongside the larger moments of the day.

Portraits That Reflect Timeless Love

During the portraits, we made room for photographs that felt close and personal. A kiss by the water. A smile beneath the gazebo. The bride resting against the groom’s shoulder with her eyes closed.

That last portrait captures something I wanted to preserve throughout the day: the comfort of being close to the person you love.

To me, that is what gives a wedding photograph a timeless quality. Years from now, the expression, the gesture, and the connection will still matter.

Preserving the Feeling of the Day

From the bride’s bright smile while getting ready to the ceremony shared with loved ones, this wedding offered so many moments worth remembering.

My hope is that these photographs bring the couple back to the love they felt and the family who celebrated beside them. It was a privilege to document their day through FrankWimages.
